We owe huge debts of gratitude to numerous people and organizations for helping us pull off another successful Cooper-Young Beerfest this year.
First, thanks to all of our terrific attendees for your support of Cooper-Young and your passion for craft beer. The brewers always have great things to say about our attendees, and we know why.
Second, we obviously couldn't do any of this without all of the terrific brewers from our region of the country who participated. The breweries that come to the CY Beerfest are small businesses that are often run with a handful of people. These brewers take time out of their schedules to travel to Memphis, in most cases, and bring their delicious beers here for you to sample. After doing this for 6 years now, we can tell you that the brewers are a terrific bunch of people, and it has been a pleasure to get to know them. Please help us support these local craft brewers.
Third, we have some terrific sponsors that make all of this possible. Midtown Autowerks has graciously allowed us to use their lot, and we can’t thank them enough for being terrific hosts. Madison Growler / Cash Saver has been a great sponsor of this event for two years now. Memphis Made has been a tremendous supporter of this event since the beginning. They graciously allow the visiting brewers to use their walk-in cooler space, host planning meetings and throw a great after party. Ryan Trimm and his staff at Sweet Grass have been a terrific sponsor for years. For multiple years, they have hosted a terrific brewers’ dinner and fed all of us. Craig Blondis and his staff at Central BBQ have been amazing sponsors since we started this in 2010. They always provide their delicious BBQ for the after party and gifts for the brewers. Stone Soup has been a sponsor for years and has graciously provided breakfast for the brewers. Goner Records has provided the soundtrack to the CY Beerfest since 2011 and always donates gifts to the brewers. Last but not least, Yellow Cab has been a recurring sponsor and has offered discounted cab rides to the brewers for the weekend.
Fourth, numerous local businesses donated items that went in gift bags for the brewers. We wanted to give the brewers a taste of some of the great things in Memphis, and we certainly did that thanks to the following businesses: The Rendezvous, Ballinger Enterprises, Huey’s, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Crazy Good Specialty Foods, Muddy’s and Hot Mess. Please help us support these businesses that support Cooper-Young and the CY Beerfest.
Fifth, the great volunteers that helped us Saturday deserve our thanks. Many people gave their time to help us set-up and tear down the site, pour beer, work the gate, etc. We greatly appreciate their help and hope they had a good time while they were doing it.
Finally, I would like to recognize the hard work and hundreds of volunteer hours put in by our organizing committee. We spend about 8-9 months of the year planning this event in an attempt to pull it off successfully and make sure everyone has a great experience. No one gets paid to organize and produce this event.
